To the King’s College Community:
We are deeply grateful for your continued prayers for The King’s College.
In our last update, we shared that we had launched an expansive effort to identify strategic partners with a mutual vision for excellence in Christian higher education in New York City. Despite a thorough search for such a partner, the Board has been unable to secure the support necessary to present a plan to resume operations by the July 15, 2025, deadline granted to us by the New York State Education Department.
Therefore, we must announce that The King’s College will remain closed permanently and that we will begin to dissolve it under the guidance of the relevant state authorities.
The Board wishes to thank the many generations of students, alumni, faculty, staff, parents, and friends who have formed the rich fabric of the King’s community for almost 90 years. Your commitment to truth, faith, and academic excellence has left a lasting legacy, and we trust that God will continue to use this community for the glory of His Kingdom for many years to come. While King’s may be closing, we know its legacy will live on.
Please know that we will explore ways to honor the King’s legacy as we continue our work.
For our alumni: Alumni seeking their transcripts may continue to obtain them

The King’s College Board of Trustees
NOTICE TO DONORS OF THE KING’S COLLEGE REGARDING PETITION TO TRANSFER ENDOWMENT FUNDS
In July 2023, the Board of Trustees of The King’s College (the “Board”) determined, based on financial and enrollment projections, that it was in the best interests of the students and The King’s College (the “College”) to suspend its educational offerings at the end of August 2023 and not offer classes for the Fall of 2023.
Over the course of the next approximately two years, the College’s Board and President undertook a deliberative, thoughtful, and strategic review process that included exploring and evaluating an array of potential future options and alternatives from remaining as an independent institution to potentially merging with another institution of higher education.
On October 1, 2025, Petitioner’s Board adopted a Resolution under New York Education Law § 219 to dissolve the College as an education corporation and authorized the filing of a Petition for Dissolution with the Regents of the University of the State of New York (“NYS Regents”). The College submitted the Petition for Dissolution to the NYS Regents on October 14, 2025.
On November 4, 2025, the NYS Regents granted the relief requested in the Petition for Dissolution, and the College was dissolved effective as of such date.
In accordance with New York Education Law § 220, the College has filed a petition with the New York State Supreme Court in New York County for an order of distribution of assets and to transfer endowment and other donor-restricted funds to other not-for-profit institutions of higher education. The legal proceeding is entitled In the Matter of the Application of The King’s College, Petitioner, For an Order of Distribution of Assets pursuant to Section 220 of the Education Law and For Cy Pres Relief pursuant to Section 8-1.1(c) of the New York Estates, Powers & Trusts Law and New York Not-for-Profit Corporation Law § 555(c), Index No. 151507/2026.
If you have donated to a Restricted Fund and would like to receive a copy of the Petition and/or an opportunity to be heard regarding this request for approval of the transfer and modification of the restrictions on certain Restricted Funds, you may send a request for an electronic copy of the Petition (including exhibits) and/or an email or letter detailing your concerns regarding the proposed transfer and/or modification to the College’s Chief Liquidation Administrator at
janderson@tkc.edu
. Copies of all correspondence received by the Chief Liquidating Administrator will be provided to the Court.
You may also make a formal filing in the legal proceeding. You should consult your own legal counsel in connection with making a formal filing.
In order for your submission to be available for the Court’s consideration, please be sure to send any letter or email, or make any filing, by March 12, 2026.
