Navigate in 8
What is Navigate in 8?
Navigate in 8 is ASUN’s flexible accelerated format—replacing traditional 16-week
semesters with two 8-week terms. You'll complete the same courses in a shorter timeframe,
focusing on fewer courses at a time for a more immersive experience.
How It Works
Two 8‑week terms per semester
: Fall and Spring each have Flex Term I (first 8 weeks) and Flex Term II (second 8
weeks).
Focused pacing
: Take 2–3 courses per term to enhance focus and retention.
Same credits, same outcomes
: Accelerated but fully accredited and equivalent.
Course Sequence
Full-Time Students
If you’re a full-time student taking five classes in a traditional 16-week semester,
you would take two or three classes per eight-week session. You’ll focus on fewer
classes at a time and earn the same 15 credits.

Part-Time Students
If you have time to take two classes during the traditional 16-week semester, you
would take just one class at time in the 8-Week format. You’ll be more focused and
still earn the same credits.

FAQs
Q: How do I register for Navigate in 8?
A: Register like any other class using ASUN’s admissions portal. Look for terms labeled
“Flex I or Flex II"
Q: Can I take full 16‑week and 8‑week classes in the same semester?
A: Absolutely! Students often mix standard and accelerated formats based on their
schedule.
Q: Are accelerated classes harder?
A: You cover material faster, so expect a more intensive workload. However, many students
find the focus helps learning retention.
Q: How do financial aid and tuition work?
A: Financial aid applies per semester, not per term. You’ll be eligible for full semester
aid whether you take one or two 8-week terms. However, you must register for ALL classes
at the beginning of the semester.
Q: Can I transfer credits from Navigate in 8?
A: Yes—credits transfer just like traditional term courses since they are the same
content and accreditation.
