Mental Health and Wellbeing
Physical and Mental Health
As well as maintaining progress in their school work, it is essential that pupils also look after their physical and mental health and well being. Welsh Government has issued
guidance to support families
.
It is important to try and set up a suitable study space and keep to good routines. Try and schedule a few hours in the morning to complete your school work, before doing other things.
As well as providing an education, we recognise that pupils gain a great deal from their social interactions with others. Children should make the effort where possible to stay in touch with friends, using digital technology.
Resources are available on
Hwb
to support mental health.
Action for Happiness
is a useful resource to keep a positive mindset during these challenging times.
The NHS has a
useful guide
for parents/carers on supporting their child's mental health.
If you are feeling stressed or anxious about anything, make sure you talk to someone.
School Based Counselling
The school offers school-based counselling on a self-referral basis through Neath Port Talbot local authority. Full details are available on their
website
.
