The Curtis vocal studies department integrates new students into the full musical life of the school from the moment they arrive.
Curtis aims to educate and train musicians for 21st-century careers as performers on the highest professional level, through a unique learn-by-doing approach. Students can expect to perform often on the Student Recital Series and in Curtis Opera Theatre productions from the beginning of their Curtis careers.
Curtis Vocal Studies students have the unique opportunity to study with a voice teacher of their choosing. The selection of a voice teacher is facilitated with the thoughtful guidance of our artistic leadership.

Studying voice at Curtis means a highly individualized approach to performance training, supported by world-class faculty and music staff. Students have a unique opportunity to study with a voice instructor of their choosing, facilitated by the thoughtful guidance of artistic leadership.
Students receive unlimited repertoire and language coaching opportunities, and are featured in fully staged operas each season where they work with renowned conductors, directors, and artistic collaborators. These works presented by Curtis Opera Theatre are tailored to specifically showcase the unique talents of the students enrolled.
