Upper School - The Ramaz School my Upper School Welcome to the Ramaz Upper School! The Ramaz difference. Ramaz Upper School students are inspired, guided, and advised as they grow academically, personally, religiously, and spiritually.  Ramaz students gain confidence and skills necessary to succeed in college and beyond and through our dynamic curriculum, outstanding teaching and expansive co curricular program, they develop a sense of responsibility for the Jewish people, all Americans, and all humankind. Rabbi Aaron Frank's Blog - Mifrasim מפרשים “To reach a port, we must sail, sometimes with the wind, sometimes against it. But we must not drift or lie at anchor.” This quote by Oliver Wendell Holmes, talks about sails, mifrasim, מפרשים, and should speak to each of us as adults, parents and educators as we work to navigate our lives and parents and educators. The education and raising of a child is a precious balance. Sometimes we have to work on the child’s terms in order to achieve success. We have to lean in and sail with the wind along with our child’s interests, nature and personality in order to help facilitate growth and learning. There are other times where we have to push against our child’s natural tendencies, to push against the wind to help most. While we have to provide the safety nets of love and support, we sometimes have to prod children to push deeper or wider and to go beyond their comfort zones. There are no easy answers as to when to lean into the wind and when to push against it, but we must still strive to consistently move forward. Drifting or lying at anchor is not an option. This monthly blog is meant to be a catalyst for learning, collaboration and conversation as we all work together to best navigate our paths and help our most precious treasures, our children and students, reach their own ports and reach their potential.
