Students' Union
Based at Newton Park, the Students’ Union has spaces to eat, drink, socialise and unwind from your studies.
The
Students' Union
(SU) ensures that the student voice is listened to and acted upon. It's there to support, advise and entertain you.
It makes sure that you are getting a fair deal, whether from the University, your employer, or even from your landlord. Its
Advice Centre
can help with a whole range of student-related matters from academic appeals to personal issues.
You can find the Students' Union building on our
Newton Park
campus. Relax and socialise in The Barn, or work out in The Gym.
Choose from over 70 different
clubs and societies
, and meet fellow students with similar interests and passions. Keep an eye out for
volunteering
and
fundraising
opportunities too – a great way to try something new and give back to those around you.
All students at BSU automatically become members of its Students’ Union. You can opt-out as part of the annual registration process.
The Barn
The Barn is a great place to hang out with friends, catch some great events and grab a bite to eat. This unique multi-use space is entirely yours to shape and enjoy.
You’ll find plenty of food and drink options to suit all diets, plus regular weekly deals that are ideal for student budgets.
There's also a whole host of exciting events put on throughout the year to keep you entertained, help you connect with new people and provide a well-deserved break from your studies.
The Nook
Next door you'll find The Nook, a cosy common room. Reheat food from home, play games, catch up on work, or relax between lectures.
The Gym
The Gym
is a great place to work out on campus and particularly convenient if you live or study at
Newton Park
. It has affordable membership options to suit every budget.
Whether you’re a regular gym‑goer or just starting out, friendly, qualified instructors are on hand to help you feel confident and ensure you get the most from your visits. You can even book a free one‑to‑one session and receive a personalised training programme tailored to your goals.
