What is MTC Required to Do?
SB 79 requires MPOs to produce maps of the geographic areas where the law applies.
Working with transit agencies and local governments, MTC has developed a preliminary draft map of these TOD Zones.
Preliminary Draft Map
A preliminary draft map is now available.
A version of this map that reflects any updates in response to factual errors will become official on July 1, 2026, when SB 79 goes into effect.
Report any errors to MTC staff by submitting a
comment form
or an email to
info@bayareametro.gov.
Please include documentation in your comment. Because MTC does not have discretion in its interpretation of SB 79, only documented comments on factual errors can be used to update the map.
