The Center for Trauma Care is Arizona’s only American College of Surgeons-verified Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center. Arizona ALS Base Hospital certification Our Emergency Department on the Thomas Campus is certified by the Arizona Department of Health Services as an Advanced Life Support Base Hospital, the only children’s hospital in the state to earn this designation. As an ALS Base Hospital, Phoenix Children’s serves as a communications center that provides phone and online pediatric medical direction to certified EMTs and paramedics in the field — whether the patient’s destination is Phoenix Children’s or another hospital. By providing Phoenix Children’s pediatric emergency expertise to first responders, we can improve care even before a patient arrives at the hospital. This gives the patient the very best chance for recovery. Visitor Parking Our hospital is conveniently located near the 51, south of Thomas Rd. Our Emergency Department is located west of the Main Entrance and is accessible from Thomas Rd. Parking is free. Emergency parking is available west of the Emergency Department. For appointments in the Ambulatory or Rosenberg buildings , please park in the Cambridge Garage. For all other visits , please use the Thomas Garage.
