Introduction
The Faculty of Health Sciences at Puntland State University (PSU) is dedicated to the preparation of competent, ethical, and socially accountable health professionals in accordance with World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations and World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) global standards. The Faculty adopts outcome-based and competency-driven education that integrates biomedical sciences, clinical skills, public health principles, research, and community engagement. Through learner-centered pedagogy, experiential and interprofessional training, and continuous quality assurance mechanisms, the Faculty ensures that its academic programs are aligned with national health priorities and internationally recognized accreditation and quality assurance frameworks. Graduates are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and professional values required to function effectively within local health systems and the global health workforce.
Objectives
Create platform to apply scientific reasoning and problem-solving skills
To enhance our pioneer position in health education by improving ourselves, to shape our scientific activities according to the needs of our country and within the scope of global developments.
Enhance and provide quality undergraduate programs.
To equip students who will be able to think critically in their academic and working lives, valuing the ethical issues, responsible for the community, participative, thinking sophisticatedly, open to learning, researcher, productive, innovative, taking place in multidisciplinary works and thus trained as a professionalist.
To produce, apply, spread knowledge about health in our country, train individuals who have advanced abilities and be an education and research institution at international level.
To promote cooperation between the faculty and the community, to increase the living quality and health standards of the community and being responsible from the global values
