Northpoint Bible College exists to teach and train students
for Excellent Pentecostal Ministry in fulfillment of The Great Commission.
Notice to the Public
On March 6, 2026, Northpoint Bible College (“Northpoint”) was informed by its accrediting
body, The Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE), that it needed to
post notice
that
the ABHE had initiated adverse action, that is, withdrawal of Northpoint’s accreditation. While
this withdrawal was effective as of February11, 2026, ABHE has extended Northpoint’s
accreditation for currently enrolled students only through May 10, 2026, to support course
and/or program completion.
Northpoint has exercised its right to appeal ABHE’s withdrawal of Northpoint’s accreditation
and a hearing on this appeal will be held on April 24, 2026.
The Northpoint Board of Trustees voted on March 24, 2026 that, in the event Northpoint’s appeal
to ABHE is unsuccessful, Northpoint will 1) cease to offer accredited degrees effective as of a
date certain to be determined by the ABHE and the Massachusetts Department of Higher
Education (“Department”) and 2) change its name to “Northpoint School of the Bible.” At that
juncture, Northpoint would seek to transition from being an accredited, degree-granting college
to a three-year certificate school to honor the mission to teach and train students for excellent
Pentecostal ministry in fulfillment of the Great Commission.
In February 2024 the Department required Northpoint to
publicly post
that it could not confirm
that the institution had sufficient resources to sustain operations and substantially fulfill its
obligations to enrolled and admitted students for both the current and the subsequent academic
year. This notice was made in accordance with the Financial Assessment and Risk Monitoring
law (610 CMR 13.00) and remains in force.
Northpoint Bible College had submitted teach-out plans to the ABHE, and contingency closure
plan to the Department. The Department is presently working with Northpoint to enact those
contingency plans which it previously approved. These plans provide current Northpoint students
with pathways to continue their education at accredited institutions. Currently the college has
Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with Evangel University in Springfield, MO, Gordon
College in Wenham MA, Nelson University in Waxahachie, TX, and The University of Valley
Forge in Phoenixville, PA. Northpoint is developing additional pathways for students, and more
information will be shared once they are finalized.
For the time being, all Zion Bible College and Northpoint Bible College alumni can still make
their transcript requests at https://northpoint.edu/alumni/transcript-request/. Additional
information about the teach-out plans is available to students and can be viewed on Northpoint’s
website, https://northpoint.edu/.
