If you do not have the qualifications, study skills or English language ability you need to take the degree of your choice, you can apply for one of our foundation programmes. We'll help you to develop the skills you need to match your ambitions. Our International Foundation Programme is aimed at international students and will allow you to move onto future undergraduate study. We also provide many courses with foundation years at the start, aimed at students with acceptable English language skills but with qualifications below the level required. You can learn about both options below. International Foundation Programme The International Foundation Programme (IFP) is a level 3 foundation year and an equivalent qualification to A levels. It's designed for international students, and allows you to bridge the gap between your current knowledge and qualifications, and future study at undergraduate level. We offer guaranteed progression to a range of undergraduate courses at Kent once you have met the progression requirements for your degree. Kent's undergraduate degrees are some of the best in the UK, designed to challenge you and take your studies to the highest level. International Foundation Programme details Degrees with a foundation year A degree with a foundation year is a subject-specific programme for students with acceptable English language ability but school-leaving qualifications below the level required. It offers one year of full-time study prior to a particular undergraduate degree. You can apply for one of these programmes if you have a minimum of two passes at A level, or another recognised post-GCSE qualification, but not in the subject areas needed for your chosen degree. You can also apply if you did not obtain high enough grades or you don’t have the necessary standard of English. Below is our current list of courses with a foundation year option.
