Admissions Help With Fees Alleyn’s School Help With Fees Our bursary programme is a very important part of our mission, in keeping with our belief that we must open up opportunities for children to flourish with an Alleyn’s education. We enjoy supporting every one of our bursary recipients to thrive. A Flourishing Community At Alleyn’s, we believe that exceptional young people should have access to an outstanding education, regardless of financial circumstance. We are proud to support every bursary pupil and remain committed to growing this life-changing provision through sustainable philanthropy. In September 2024, we were delighted to welcome 24 new bursary recipients to the School. This brings the total number of pupils receiving means-tested support in 2024/25 to 117- around 10% of our Senior School population. Of these, 70 are fully funded, meaning their families make no financial contribution towards fees. On average, bursaries currently cover 94% of the full fee. For those on fully funded places, our support goes beyond the classroom. We also provide assistance with uniforms, travel to and from school, lunches, IT devices, trips, and co-curricular opportunities - enabling pupils to take full advantage of all that an Alleyn’s education offers, both in and beyond the classroom. Alleyn's offers its means-tested bursaries as part of the standard annual admissions process for pupils applying to join in Years 7 and 12. The means-assessment is rigorous and fair. We ask families to provide detailed financial information during the admissions process, for review by our friendly and experienced Bursary team. An important part of the means-assessment process involves our Chief Financial Officer, Claire Morgan, and a member of her team meeting bursary applicants at their homes or at the School. This ensures that families can find out more, in person, about how we help and support bursary recipients in their move to Alleyn's and throughout their time here. Claire Morgan, our CFO Just like all our pupils, our bursary recipients are encouraged to own their voices, to try new things and to use their talents to give back to the School and the world around them. They develop into kind, curious and well-rounded young people who work hard and achieve impressive outcomes. This Summer, the 14 students in the Class of 2024 who were receiving help with fees attained excellent A level results, with the majority securing places at their first-choice university. We strive to support bursaries at Alleyn's through the philanthropy of our community and appreciate the generous regular and single gifts we receive from alumni, parents and staff. We are continually fundraising to increase the number of bursaries that we can provide. We are also grateful to The Dulwich Estate and to The Worshipful Company of Saddlers , both of whom play significant and long-lasting roles in supporting our bursary programme. They are also girls and boys who come from all backgrounds, including children from Ukraine and through our relationships with The Royal National Children's Springboard Foundation I was fortunate enough to be awarded a 100% bursary to attend Alleyn's. Studying at Alleyn's meant joining a life-long community of high-achieving, creative and compassionate intellectuals. Josanne (Tyson's 2020) Frequently Asked Questions The non-refundable registration fee is £200 plus VAT or £350 plus VAT for overseas applicants. You must pay the registration fee when you submit the registration form. The registration fee is not payable if your child qualifies for the Pupil Premium or if you are in receipt of Universal Credit. You must provide written evidence of the Pupil Premium or Universal Credit when you submit your child’s registration form. Yes. You can apply for financial assistance to help cover the cost of your child’s school fees. This financial assistance is means-tested and, depending on your circumstances, may cover the full cost of the fees. Once you have submitted your child’s registration form we will send you a special Bursary Application Form for you to complete and return. This will provide us with important information about your family’s financial situation, which will be assessed by the School Bursar. Financial assistance is also known as an Academic Bursary.
