With an intension of "Giving back to the society", GIET Universiy, Gunupur organizes blood donation and awarness programs through out the year. Every month a good number of blood units are collected and donated to the hospitals for their ready use. Awarness Program The students, staff & general public are made aware of the beneficial aspects of blood donation & the precautionary measures while donating blood and encouraged to be a volunteer blood donor to bring a life back to power. Vastradaan Vastradaan To touch someone's life, to feel the joy in giving, GIET University runs a "Vastradaan" initiative and distributes clothes to the poor & needy villagers every year during Daan Utsav week. Jal Shakti Abhiyan (JSA) 'A drop of water is worth more than a sack of gold to a thirsty man.' Water is a primary element to sustain and nurture livelihoods and nature. GIET University Gunupur prioritizes the importance of water and its conservation. The University has, to promote the water conservation campaign “Jal Shakti Abhiyan (JSA)”, taken innumerable steps to converse and recharge groundwater. The University has a farm pond on its sprawling campus to conserve collected rainwater for future use. There is also a residential grey-water system used for landscape irrigation across the campus. The University focuses on watershed development and intensive afforestation to save water as a part of the active ‘Jal Shakti Abhiyan.’ The Jal Shakti Abhiyan is an intensive water conservation initiative promoted by the Indian Government in May 2019 to counter the water crisis issues in the country. The school of agriculture, GIET University conducts training programs on seeding and production of saplings for the students. In this direction, a programme called "SWABALAMBAN" has been launched by GIET University to enhance the education, employability and livelihoods of the unemployed youth living in rural areas.
