A Dominant Spring: Both GAC Varsity Tennis Programs Clinch Region Titles
April
2026
GAC’s varsity tennis programs delivered a dominant statement this week, as both the boys and girls teams captured Region 6-AAA Tournament championships in impressive fashion.
The Spartan boys continued their reign atop the region, securing the title with a 3-0 victory over North Hall in Wednesday’s finals. The win marks yet another milestone for the three-time defending state champions, who showed their depth and focus throughout the tournament. GAC advanced to the finals with back-to-back 3-0 sweeps of White County and Lumpkin County, never dropping a match along the way.
The championship performance comes on the heels of another significant result for the boys program. Last Friday, the Spartans earned a marquee 3-2 victory over nationally ranked McCallie School, further solidifying their reputation as one of the top teams in the country.
On the girls side, the Spartans matched that excellence, claiming the Region 6-AAA title with a strong showing against North Hall in the finals. GAC’s lineup proved too much to handle, with dominant performances across the board:
Ella Kemp battled to a 7-6 lead before the match was halted
Charlie Bomar delivered a commanding 6-0, 6-0 win
Gina Chen led 6-1, 3-1 before play concluded
Ava Hoover and Vera Pitts cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 doubles victory
Harper Nguyen and Kinley Connett secured a 6-1, 6-0 win
With both teams firing on all cylinders, Greater Atlanta Christian now turns its attention to the state playoffs, where the Spartans will look to continue their championship tradition and add to an already remarkable season.
