The monthly time commitment varies depending on the board or committee but generally includes regular meetings and occasional special sessions or events and equates to a few hours each month. With few exceptions, the meetings of City Council and any of its appointed boards are open to the public. Citizen participation is encouraged and welcomed at these meetings. Council and staff believe that the more involved citizens are in the early stages of program and legislation development, the better local government can meet the needs and expectations of the community. Boards advise the City Council on the policies of the City and each board has a defined purpose under the Longmont Municipal Code. Subscribe to Email Updates
