Through generous funding – from families, fans, and alumni – the Institute can ease the financial burden of qualified cadets ready to continue that legacy of selfless service. VMI's Call to Duty Scholarships provide additional funding to qualified, appointed students who are recipients of three and four-year ROTC national scholarships. Call to Duty Scholarships cover housing and food (room and board) not included in the independently-awarded scholarships from the Army Navy , and Air Force TIP : ROTC scholarship funds, eligibility, and deadlines vary from service to service. High school students are encouraged to connect with the ROTC units at VMI early in their college research process for information about specific program requirements and expectations. Eligibility and Application This scholarship is an annual award. To keep the scholarship each semester, cadets must continue to demonstrate eligibility for their ROTC scholarship.   ROTC units will work with the Office of Financial Aid to determine continued semester eligibility prior to the beginning of each semester. REMINDER : The Call to Duty Scholarship is awarded after all types of other financial aid, excluding loans, have been applied, and is based on available funding. ROTC scholarships must be awarded PRIOR to Matriculation to qualify for Call to Duty.
