Honoring the Commitment to Serve through Financial Support
VMI has a long and storied history of producing military leaders of honor and integrity, ready to serve and defend the nation. Through generous funding – from families, fans, and alumni – the Institute can ease the financial burden of qualified cadets ready to continue that legacy of selfless service.
VMI's
Call to Duty Scholarships
provide additional funding to qualified, appointed students who are recipients of three and four-year ROTC national scholarships. Call to Duty Scholarships cover housing and food (room and board) not included in the independently-awarded scholarships from the
Army
Navy
, and
Air Force
TIP

Call to Duty Scholarship Application
Army covered my education, but I needed a way to pay to actually be here and live here. Call to Duty was the difference between me coming here or not. And I can think of people who are probably in my shoes or even in worse situations, that this scholarship has blessed. I couldn’t be more grateful.
REMINDER
: The Call to Duty Scholarship is awarded
after
all types of other financial aid, excluding loans, have been applied, and is based on available funding. ROTC scholarships must be awarded

Why VMI?
While there are many schools across the nation who offer ROTC programs, as a senior military college, VMI’s ROTC program can provide military training at a higher level than programs at civilian colleges and universities. Cadets have access to active-duty bases, field training exercises, and high-ranking military officials on post, a rich and valuable training ground for tomorrow’s officers. The 24-7 military environment on post keeps cadets fit, focused, and ready to learn to lead.
