Students selected for this competitive opportunity will spend 4–10 weeks during the summer working with healthcare professionals at Atrium or Novant locations. Participants will engage in a mix of administrative and clinical work, commit to 20–24 hours of work per week, and earn approximately $17 per hour.
Applications for this program are submitted during the fall semester. If you have questions about the program, please contact
Dr. Plummer
or
Prof. Subramanian.
"My internship confirmed my passion to pursue a career in physical therapy. Having the opportunity to shadow and interact with hospital-based physical therapists solidified my desire to work in the rehabilitation field."
- Eli Toole, Pre-Physical Therapy student working with Novant
Edwards, Plummer leading Health Professions Pathways
The success of Wingate’s health sciences graduate programs isn’t lost on prospective undergrad students, many of whom apply to the Lab of Difference-making with visions of a white coat or pair of scrubs in their future. But getting them from well-intentioned high school senior to well-prepared graduate-program applicant is a process, and one that the University is investing in with the development of Health Professions Pathways.
