Salisbury University’s beautiful 200-acre campus is located on the south end of the City of Salisbury in Wicomico County on Maryland’s scenic Eastern Shore.

What It’s Like to Be a Social Work Major at SU’s ESHEC
Where you learn matters, especially in social work. For Neil Siegman, the social work major at Salisbury University’s Eastern Shore Higher Education Center felt like the right fit from the start. With family roots at SU, a program built on service, and the ability to make a real impact in his community, his choice made sense both personally and professionally.
At ESHEC, social work means learning in real time, working with people from different backgrounds, seeing how community issues show up in everyday life, and understanding challenges that might look a lot like your own. Neil talks about how being part of the local community shaped his perspective and prepared him for what comes next.
If you’re looking for a path that connects you to real people and prepares you to make a difference where you are, this is where your tomorrow begins.
What It’s Like to Be an Elementary Education Major at SU’s ESHEC
If you dream of being a teacher, your goal isn’t just certification, but knowing you’re ready when your classroom door finally opens. For Karlie Roberts, the elementary education major at Salisbury University’s Eastern Shore Higher Education Center made it possible to stay close to home while building confidence as a future teacher. With flexible evening classes, internships at local schools, and support from mentors who believe in her, Karlie found a program that fits her current lifestyle while preparing her for what comes next.
For program coordinator Elaine O’Neal, that confidence is everything. She wants every student who leaves ESHEC to feel ready—not just to teach, but to believe in themselves as they step into the world and shape young lives.
If you’re looking for a path that fits your lifestyle and prepares you to make a difference in the lives of the children you’ll work with, this is where your tomorrow begins.
