Beyond BHS | Berkeley Hall High School Placement Beyond BHS Prepared. Confident. Ready to Soar. Berkeley Hall’s preschool through eighth grade model is a unique environment where students grow into confident, responsible young leaders. By the time they reach eighth grade, our students are ready to approach the high school application process with a strong sense of self and a clear vision for their future. Empowered to take the lead, and supported every step of the way by their families and our team, they make thoughtful decisions about the next chapter of their educational journey. High schools across Los Angeles and beyond recognize our graduates as resilient, thoughtful, and curious individuals, ready to make a lasting impact. I loved being at Berkeley Hall from nursery through 8th grade because it felt like a second home. BHS is place where curiosity is celebrated, friendships are genuine, and learning goes beyond the classroom. Now, in my last year at Harvard-Westlake, I see how Berkeley Hall’s values continue to shape the way I learn, lead, and see the world. Empowered Choices, Successful Futures Each year, more than 90% of our graduates are accepted into their top-choice independent and parochial high schools. Many go on to earn honors placements and merit- or need-based scholarships. These meetings provide families with essential information and resources to make informed decisions about their child's education, while offering opportunities to ask questions, gain insights from other parents, and build confidence in their choices. Each family meets one-on-one with our Head of School to discuss their student’s interests, strengths, and goals. These conversations are designed to match each child with schools that align with their academic profile, passions, and personality. This course equips students with practical skills and tools to present their best selves. Students receive coaching for interviews, guidance on writing thoughtful personal application essays, and opportunities to reflect on who they are and what they value. The course emphasizes leadership, responsibility, and confidence-building—foundational traits that students carry with them into high school and beyond. Our Head of School meets personally with admissions directors at each prospective school to discuss individual applicants. These conversations provide schools with a deeper understanding of each student’s character, readiness, and fit. It’s one more way we ensure our students are known, advocated for, and celebrated. Each fall, Berkeley Hall hosts a High School Fair that brings admissions representatives directly to campus. Seventh and eighth grade families have the chance to engage one-on-one with a variety of schools, ask questions, and learn more about what makes each school unique.
