Charter Ambassador Program Health & Wellbeing Summit Empowers Young Leaders at Adelaide Zoo
Year 6 and Year 8 Student Leaders attended the Adelaide Zoo for the Charter Ambassador Program Health & Wellbeing Summit on Tuesday. The day was filled with inspiring talks, interactive sessions, and a celebration of youth leadership.
The event commenced with an expressive yidaki performance and interactive and informative Kaurna Welcome to Country that captivated the students and set the tone for the day ahead.
The summit’s sessions kicked off, offering a day of learning, sharing, and empowerment. A lineup of distinguished guest speakers took to the stage, each bringing their unique perspectives and insights.
Taryn Brumfitt, renowned for her advocacy in body positivity and named Australian of the Year, delivered an impactful address encouraging the students to embrace self-love and acceptance.
Hardworking and self-motivated Adelaide United soccer player Bruce Djite also shared his journey, highlighting the values of perseverance and dedication in pursuing one’s passions.
Finally, students heard from 20-year-old author Felicity Graham, who has gained recognition for her work as a passionate advocate for vulnerable children and young people in the foster care system. Felicity recounted her experiences in foster care and the power of giving a voice to those who often go unheard. Her story served as a testament to the potential for positive change, even at a young age.
In addition to the enriching talks, students had the chance to explore the Adelaide Zoo, engage in brain teasers, and connect with peers from other schools.
The atmosphere was one of friendship and shared enthusiasm for making a difference in the world as young leaders exchanged their experiences and opinions on creating meaningful change in their communities.
The Charter Ambassador Program Health & Wellbeing Summit provided an exceptional platform for nurturing the potential of our young leaders, motivating them to harness their leadership skills and drive positive change in the world around them.
