The HLC is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation as the regional accrediting organization for nineteen states in the North Central region of the United States. The College’s most recent reaffirmation of accreditation occurred in AY 2019 – 2020, with the next reaffirmation of accreditation scheduled for AY 2029 – 2030. Hanover has elected for its accreditation “pathway” the Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP), which emphasizes continuous improvement in all areas of operation. Hanover’s teacher-certification programs for elementary and secondary education is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). The certification programs also comply with all regulations and requirements of the Indiana Department of Education.
