I left with a fuller understanding of the veracity of Scripture and more intimately connected to God of the Scriptures. What I loved most about Covenant was the rich, gospel-centric content taught that was readily applicable to my current ministry context. The professors had examined lives that they graciously shared for the benefit of their students and regularly created space for us to wrestle with truth.” Vanessa Hawkins Director of Community Life Redeemer Lincoln Square “During my time at Covenant I was continually amazed at how the professors invested in not just our academic success, but also in our spiritual formation. It was obvious that they took a vested interest in our well being. And, as a female student, I felt extremely welcomed, affirmed, supported, and encouraged in my academic pursuits! Your time at Covenant Seminary will not only prepare you for a lifetime of ministry, it will conform you more into the image of Jesus.” Courtney Doctor Director of Women’s Initiatives The Gospel Coalition “I loved doing biblical exegesis that was always aimed at the heart. We didn’t just translate and dig deeper into Scripture (which was wonderful and fruitful in and of itself), but were also constantly being asked to consider how it would apply to life. I also found rich friendships with other like-minded women who cared deeply about the Bible, teaching it well and fully, and who thought theology was not a masculine pursuit, but simply a human one.” Christy Gambrell Bible Teacher Chattanooga Christian School “If you want to grow in knowledge and love of God's Word, and be better equipped to love and serve God's people, a Covenant Seminary education is worth your investment. It is a place where you will be encouraged and shaped, where you will have the opportunity to grow in your sense of what God has called you to, and where you will build relationships with others who will continue to walk alongside you in the long haul of ministry.” Jenilyn Swett Author and Director of Adult Ministries Restoration Community Church Seminary Scholarships for Women The Deborah M. Covenant is the denominational seminary of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). While we admit students from a variety of church backgrounds, we are fully committed to the doctrinal standards of the PCA and thus do not train women specifically for ordained ministry. The MDiv program has two tracks: the Ordained Ministry Track and the Specialized Ministry Track. Women participate in the Specialized Ministry Track. The tracks overlap for 92 of their 99 credit hours but differ in that the Specialized Ministry Track equips ministry leaders for non-ordained roles and to faithfull teach the Bible in a non-ordained capacity. Additionally, students in the Specialized Ministry Track choose electives instead of taking Preaching & Culture and Preparation for Licensure and Ordination. Yes! We have students from a variety of denominations. While our faculty all hold to the doctrinal commitments of the PCA, you will feel nothing but welcomed when coming from a different denomination.
