As the eighth Head of School in Burke's 100+ year history, I am proud to be a part of a school that combines academic excellence with an appreciation for childhood so that our students thrive as learners, develop a strong sense of self, contribute to community, and fulfill their potential, now and throughout life. Green and gold, our campus has a unique location amongst the cypress trees at the edge of San Francisco, overlooking the ocean, Golden Gate Bridge, and Lands End. Our location reminds us every day of our connection to the planet and our students are empowered to be both environmental scientists and stewards throughout their journey at Burke’s. Our academic program values joy as much as academic rigor and is distinguished by a focus on real-world problems, purpose, life skills, and preparing our graduates to approach their future with confidence, and resilience. Burke’s child-centered approach to learning honors developmental stages, supports healthy relationships, promotes well-being, and recognizes the individuality of each girl. To hear about classrooms and curriculum straight from our faculty, check out the Educate, Encourage & Empower Podcast Series A sense of belonging for all members of our community is vital to our student’s success.
