The Museum falls under the Community of Madrid and its functions include:
To promote respect for Cultural Heritage and museums.
Gather, preserve and disseminate the Golden Age collection housed in the Museum through activities for the general public, facilitating access to researchers.
Make the life and work of Miguel de Cervantes known through the recreation of the different spaces of his house.
