Behaviour Support As a community which emphasises moral standards, we recognise and value difference, justice, consideration and respecting each individual’s rights to live and learn in our community.  The school aims to foster a community in which all can effectively participate in learning throughout the curriculum. At St Dominic’s we use CPI (Safety Intervention Training) to support all behaviours and consequences. CPI (Safety Intervention Training) helps develop the essential knowledge and skills to support the pupils and students who present challenging, aggressive, or violent behaviour. CPI (Safety Intervention Training) is de-escalation and behaviour support training designed to equip staff with the necessary skills to provide for the best possible care, welfare, safety and security of our pupils and students. As a special school we take account of the SEN nature of the pupils and students and the manifestation of complex behaviours associated with these needs. We recognise that all behaviour is communication and the majority of our pupils and students have communication difficulties. Adults in the school are trained to read this communication (behaviour) and reflect on their own practice. At St Dominic’s School we require all adults to model good behaviour.
