Service Learning Center
Service learning is a teaching and learning strategy that takes students beyond the classroom and extends their learning into the community in a meaningful and constructive way. Service learning and community service is a core value in the mission of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College because it teaches our students civic responsibility and how to strengthen communities. Students apply what they learn in a classroom in real world situations while also helping the community.
Service Projects
Alternative Spring Break
Campus Ministries leads a group of students, staff, and faculty in a charge to make a difference in a community away from home. Recent trips were to New York City and New Orleans.
Operation Wabashiki
Each spring, The Woods Sustainability Club at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College makes it their mission to spend a day working to preserve the Wabashiki Wetlands through their initiative, Operation: Wabashiki.
