Students who study abroad develop international skills and global understanding, and see the world in a whole new perspective. It is never too late to spread your wings and fly! Studying abroad is easier than you may think. Look into it now! Follow the steps and Study Abroad! Study Abroad with Oregon Tech partnerships Requirements: Find the program that is the best fit for you and your degree program. Complete the required steps (including an electronic form which authorizes the study abroad) Submit your final transcripts to an international transcript evaluator so that courses can be applied to your degree (expect approximately $200 per transcript evaluation) Option 1 : Study on a faculty-led program! Oregon Tech faculty members are creating opportunities all across the globe! Watch your email for announcements about classes that are being offered by our faculty and sign up for an experience. Some of these are collaborative opportunities with another institution. Some of these are managed completely by Oregon Tech. Option 2 : Study with a partner program! Our partner programs have fully developed and supported study abroad programs, exchange partnerships, and international internships that are available to Oregon Tech students. The advantage of participating in a partner study abroad or international internship is that they help you plan your courses, plan your travel, make housing arrangements, and help connect you with the university abroad. You will continue to be enrolled at Oregon Tech while you are away and any Financial Aid awards you have can be applied to courses required for your degree program! Option 3 : Find your own experience! Oregon Tech students are encouraged to explore the world and find a program abroad that is right for you. If you find a study abroad program or would like to take classes at an international institution, contact us and we can talk through what you will need to do in order to transfer your coursework into Oregon Tech upon your return. Oregon Tech: Contact the leading Faculty member Partner: Start your application Complete all necessary steps Pay application fees Book travel if not provided Apply to your program Image Complete an Interview with the Global Engagement Team Meet with the Global Engagement team for a conversation about being prepared to go abroad. Partner: We’ll complete the Advisor Recommendation for your application. How to prepare for the interview? Meet with your Financial Aid Counselor Oregon Tech Financial Aid Office, as deemed your home school, needs to approve your study abroad program before any Title IV aid can be applied to the costs associated with that program Notify counselor of your participation in program Discuss options for financing Confirm your choices with your Academic Advisor Confirm your course choices Ask about any changes to the curriculum schedule that might impact your plans Consider what life might be like in the country you are traveling to.
