The Governing Body meet regularly to receive reports on the school’s performance and challenge and support the school to do even better. The school and Governing Body devise a School Improvement Plan which outlines our priorities over a three-year period. This plan is re-evaluated on an annual basis, and refinements made as necessary. The school improvement process involves devising robust targets for school performance in key areas. Targets for Key Stage 4 In line with Welsh Government requirements, we set targets for the performance of pupils at key stage 4. These are shown in the table below. You may notice some targets set at a lower level in future years. This is due to changes in the performance measures announced by Welsh Government, making the achievement more challenging for pupils. As well as gaining regular feedback through our School Council, Year Councils and other committees such as SNAG and Eco Committee, we survey all our pupils on a 3-year cycle. This ensures that everyone has the opportunity to ‘have their say’ on key issues that affect them. The results of the survey are considered as part of our self-evaluation and fed back to pupils in a special assembly. Parental Engagement On the same three-year cycle, we survey parents to gain their opinions on various aspects of the school. This valuable feedback in used as part of our self-evaluation, to improve our provision for pupils. We also use small focus groups within this three-year cycle to gain a ‘parent’s perspective’ when designing new policies and procedures. We welcome any feedback from parents during the school year and will consider it carefully and respond appropriately. Feedback may be sent in to the school using the enquiry form.
