King County Level 3 Green School
Energy Star Certified
In June 2020, Eastside Catholic was honored to be recognized as a
Level 3 King County Green School
for advancing conservation practices across campus. This recognition is part of the
King County Green Schools Initiative
, which supports schools in engaging students and staff in environmental education and sustainable practices.
To achieve Level 3 status, schools must:
Maintain Level One and Level Two conservation practices
Implement an additional waste reduction, recycling or outreach strategy following the Level One Best Practices Guide
Complete water conservation initiatives outlined in the
Water Conservation Best Practices Guide
This achievement was made possible by the passion and leadership of our student-led
EC Green Team
, along with the invaluable support of volunteers, mentors and the broader EC community.
In 2012, Eastside Catholic earned
ENERGY STAR certification
from the U.S. EPA for superior energy performance. Certified buildings use
35% less energy
and produce
35% fewer emissions
than similar facilities. We’re proud to be listed on the
ENERGY STAR registry
and remain committed to improving energy efficiency through active facility management.
