What was your first impression of Wingate?
I fell in love with the campus the minute I drove in! It was warm, bright, and friendly. I immediately knew it was where I belonged.
Why Wingate?
Wingate cares about it's students. There is always a counselor, advisor, or professor willing to help. It's easy to get to know your classmates and find mentors throughout your four years.
Advice for the college search process?
Take your time researching and visiting different campuses. Don't be afraid to ask questions- there aren't many we haven't heard before! It's important to feel comfortable with your decision.
Describe Wingate in three words:
Welcoming, Transformative, Challenging.
Advice for incoming freshmen?
Go to class and get to know your professors! Everyone is nervous even if they don't show it. Try to get out of your comfort zone to meet new people and share new experiences.
What is your favorite place on campus?
The McGee Center.

What was your first impression of Wingate?
When I first visited the Wingate campus, I was impressed by how beautiful and inviting the campus was! Everyone here is incredibly friendly which makes Wingate feel like home.
Why Wingate?
The community! Wingate is a school that genuinely cares and invests in its students. You will be equipped for success in your future career and have an incredible university experience too!
Advice for the college search process?
Visit the campus! There's no better way to get a true feel for campus life and the student culture than by experiencing it firsthand.

Advice for incoming freshmen?
Keep a growth mindset! You’ll have so many opportunities to try new things – don’t be afraid to say yes! Wingate is full of resources to help you grow, don’t be afraid to use them. The faculty and staff on campus are here because they want to help you succeed.
What is your favorite place on campus?
The patio behind the Crowder Welcome Center – Nothing beats a Starbucks drink with a view of the pond!

What was your first impression of Wingate?
I have loved Wingate my entire life since I am from here but my first impression of campus was absolute amazement. It felt like a hidden gem in a small town.
Why Wingate?
A student would choose Wingate for the small intimate class sizes, the genuine love of the community on campus and to also become a well rounded global citizen.
Advice for the college search process?
My advice would be to take your time and research each school to make sure it aligns with your interests at heart. It's easy to feel rushed into a choice or to feel overwhelmed with such a life changing decision but be patient in exploring your choices.

Advice for incoming freshmen?
My advice would be to prioritize your time. Time management is a huge component when transitioning from high school and it can make or break you. Plan ahead to avoid issues later in your academic journey.

What was your first impression of Wingate?
My first impression of Wingate was that I would not be just another employee; I was joining a second family. Everyone that I have met has been so kind and welcoming.
Why Wingate?
I believe students choose Wingate because they are allowed to be more than a number. With small class sizes and a great walkable campus, students are not just going to college; they are joining a community.
Advice for the college search process?
My advice for any student searching for a college is to visit the campus. It's important for a student to visually see if they would fit in well and to meet and to talk with current students. From my personal campus tour experience, I knew as soon as I stepped foot on campus if that college was a fit for me.

Advice for incoming freshmen?
My advice for college freshmen is to remember that the choices they make now, have a ripple effect for the rest of their lives. Some of the people that I met on my first day of college have become my friends for life.
