and let’s start a conversation.
I don’t have any work experience. Can I volunteer?
Yes, of course! Volunteering is a fantastic way of gaining valuable training and support, to help you build up your CV and experience. Some of our more specialist roles require volunteers with specific experience.
I don’t have any qualifications. Can I still volunteer?
Yes. Most of our voluntary roles don’t require qualifications. We do however, provide relevant training and support for all our volunteers.
Can I volunteer if I have a paid job?
Yes. Many of our volunteers work too. In fact, some companies actively encourage their staff to volunteer locally, and our team works with businesses to arrange volunteering opportunities.
Will my contribution be recognised or rewarded?
We are immensely proud and appreciative of the contribution all of our volunteers make. Every year we celebrate Volunteers’ Week, host volunteers thank you events and enter volunteers for local and national awards to highlight their outstanding contributions.
Will I be given any further training?
Yes. We have over 1,400 volunteers and every single one of them matters to us, and we appreciate all they do. We provide training for all of our voluntary roles. Some roles require more training than others. For example, we train our volunteer lifeguards to achieve a nationally recognised qualification. Training needs will be discussed when you meet with the volunteering team.
