Iowa Votebuilder (VAN) Guide Campaign Votebuilder Access In general, partisan candidates listed as Democrats on the ballot and non-partisan candidates who are bona fide Democrats may contract with the Iowa Democratic Party for VAN access. Candidates can request VAN access by completing the Iowa VAN Request Form. After completing the form, the designated contact will receive a contract to sign. That contract must be signed and payment must be received from the candidate’s campaign account to the Iowa Democratic Party before VAN access can be granted.
