The third in a series of four articles derived from my economic development seminar at The Ohio State University is intended for students and entering development professionals. Wrestling with Markets builds on Hill (2023) and Hill, Poland, and Reitz (2025), also in Economic Development Quarterly. A  flow-chart model linking the Five Developments (Community, Site, Workforce, Housing, and Economic) to Gross Regional Product and the desired outcomes from development (jobs, income, taxes, and economic mobility) is presented.
