Student testimonial
Coming from Italy, where I had my own space at home, adjusting to shared facilities was something new. However, I quickly realised that it’s a great way to bond with people and feel less alone in a new country.

How long do you want to stay?
Before you set your heart on a specific accommodation, think about how long you'll need it for. We offer a range of contract lengths - some match your course dates, while others give you the flexibility to stay over the winter, spring, or even summer vacations.
Our meal plan accommodations follow the undergraduate
term dates
exactly, running from September to June - meaning the winter and spring vacation periods aren’t included in the contract. This setup may not suit international students, as you'll need to move out during these breaks. While belongings can stay in your room over winter,
rooms are used for conference guests during the spring vacation, so everything must be packed up and stored until the third term begins.
The following
en-suite
accommodations are available on a 31-week lease:
Becket Court
Keynes College
Most of our on-campus accommodation is self-catered and available on a 38-week contract, running from September to June. It aligns with undergraduate
term dates
and includes the winter and spring vacations, so you can stay in your room without needing to move out during the breaks.
The following accommodations are available on a 38-week lease:
Darwin College
*
Keynes Flats
Keynes Houses
Park Wood Flats
Park Wood Houses
Pier Quays (Medway)
Turing Flats
Turing Houses
Tyler Court
Woolf College
*Darwin College offers more traditional, dorm-style accommodation, with bedrooms opening onto a shared landing. Facilities are shared, and there’s a separate communal kitchen for everyone to use outside of the flat.
New for 2025/26, our en-suite flats in
Giles Court
are available on a 44-week contract from September to July - giving you the flexibility to stay over the vacation periods and partway into the summer break too!
If you’re looking for accommodation all year round, check out our 52-week flats and studios. These run from September to September and cover all vacation periods, so you won’t need to move out until your contract ends.
Predominantly, 52-week accommodation is reserved for postgraduate students. However, Giles Court is exclusively available to undergraduates
, offering a 52-week contract in addition to the 44-week option mentioned above.
The following accommodations are available on a 52-week lease:
Undergraduate:
Giles Court Flats
Giles Court Studio Flats
Postgraduate:
Darwin Studio Flats
Darwin Houses
Keynes Studio Flats
Woolf College
Woolf Studio Flats
Short-course students at the University of Kent are welcome to apply for
undergraduate
or
postgraduate
accommodation. If you’re applying partway through the academic year, please note that we may not always be able to offer your first-choice room because availability is more limited.
