Governors
In accordance with the Articles, membership of the
Board of Governors
can be between a minimum of 16 and a maximum of 25 Governors. Half the membership must be Independent Governors and, of these, the number of Church Independent Governors and Other Independent Governors must be equal to comply with the University’s designation as a Church of England denominational institution. [Section 66 (4) (a) of the Further and Higher Education Act 1992].

Public Benefit Statement
The University of Chichester is committed to demonstrating how it provides a benefit to the public in return for its charitable status. It also recognises that this is a requirement of the terms and conditions of the funding agreement with the OfS, under which the University is required to include a report on how the institution has delivered its charitable purposes for the public benefit. The Public Benefit statement is included in the Annual Report and Financial Statements which can be found above.
