Welcome to Academic Affairs
at Anna Maria College
We invite you to explore the opportunities available through our
undergraduate, graduate, accelerated, and certificate programs. Anna Maria College is accredited by the Northeast Commission on Higher Education (NECHE) and our Social Work and Nursing majors have program-level accreditations.
Our vision and strategic goals are anchored by four pillars – Growth, Impact, Visibility, and Academic Excellence, and students serve as our North star.
At Anna Maria, our students are offered a comprehensive portfolio
of General Education courses and you may enroll in different majors through four Schools – the School of Business, School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, School of Nursing and Health Sciences, and the School of Professional Studies. The Academic Affairs division encompasses an Instructional Technology and Online Learning unit, the Mondor-Eagen Library, Student Academic Success Services, the Honors Program, Study Abroad, Registrar’s Office, and Career Services. The division also offers programs through three academic Centers of Action: the Center for Mental Health Training, Sister Mary Claire Ethics Institute, and the Center for Local and Community Studies.
Access and affordability undergird all our efforts, because we recognize the value of education and its direct link to social mobility and health outcomes.
We are committed to providing an affordable education that will equip students with a Liberal Arts foundation and competencies needed for successful careers that bolster outcomes for local communities. Our community impact can be measured in the significant number of local fire chiefs, police officers, nurses, social workers, EMTs, paramedics, forensic criminologists, and teachers, etc. who received their training from AMC.
We are a leading institution for community-oriented programs, and our success in these fields is demonstrated by our recognition as a Top Five Institution for Mental Health First Aid Training. The recognition of our strength in these fields has been instrumental in some of the major grants we received in the past few years, including a $1M federal earmark that was instrumental in remodeling our 7,000 sq. ft simulation and clinical labs, which we invite you to visit.
We are focused on careers of the future with courses in Artificial Intelligence and a new and thriving Cybersecurity program.
At Anna Maria College, we are guided by core values that help to cultivate in our students a sense of personal moral responsibility and service to the community. We prioritize our students’ development as whole persons and offer an education that blends ethical development with intellectual competence.
In our tight knit community, students develop a commitment to caring for
the community and one another, in consonant with our mission.
Our classrooms are spaces for students from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds, which makes for a dynamic environment where students learn through their daily interactions with one another. I invite you to explore our programs and to meet the incredible students, faculty, and staff members who constitute the heart of our College.
