The Blood & Marrow Transplant Program (BMT) at UI Health specializes in a variety of stem cell transplant procedures to provide the best possible outcomes in patients with cancers of the bone marrow, specific solid tumorous cancers, and non-neoplastic blood disorders.

Stem Cell Transplant Treatments
The BMT Program at UI Health provides a number of stem cell transplant procedures to deliver the best possible outcomes in patients with cancers and diseases of the blood. BMT treatments include:
Autologous stem cell transplant
Stem cell transplant that uses a patient's own stem cells for transplantation.
Allogeneic stem cell transplant
This procedure uses stem cells from a matched related or unrelated donor for transplantation.
CAR T-Cell Therapy
UI Health is an approved treatment site for CAR (Chimeric Antigen Receptor) T-Cell Therapy, an FDA-approved therapy for treating specific types of lymphoma, leukemia, and multiple myeloma in patients who have not responded to previous cancer treatments.
Haploidentical stem cell transplant
Transplant with stem cells from a half-matched related donor.
Umbilical cord stem cell transplant
This stem cell procedures uses partially matched unrelated stem cells from the donor's umbilical cord.

Patients referred to the BMT Program are assisted by our pre-transplant nurse coordinators and discussed weekly at our multispecialty meetings. All of our BMT patients meet with our team of BMT physicians, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, in addition to physical therapists and dietitians dedicated to BMT patients.
