Applying for accommodation
As soon as you have received a course offer from us, you can apply for
University accommodation
. Your offer letter will include your Birmingham City University Application Number (Student ID), which you will need when completing the online accommodation application form.
We work with student accommodation providers in Birmingham City Centre and close to our City South Campus, and we have a range of accommodation to suit different students.

How to apply
As first year international student, you are guaranteed Birmingham City University accommodation if you apply by
31 August
Look at our available accommodation to identify your preference. Please choose University or Private Halls accommodation close to the campus where you will be studying.
Your course page will tell you where you’ll be based
You can register on our Online Accommodation Services website. You will need to complete the personal details section and provide your Student ID.
You will then receive two emails - one confirming your registration and another giving you a validation code.
You can now login to the Online Accommodation Services website using your ID, password and validation code.
Select ‘Applications’ from the online menu and complete your online accommodation application.
You will then receive an email detailing your accommodation offer, once your course offer has been updated to Unconditional.
You should apply by 31 August to guarantee your accommodation. If you apply late, we may need to refer you to other accommodation providers if all University rooms have been allocated.

There are also private accommodation options in Birmingham, w
e encourage all new international students to go into University halls of residence because it gives you the opportunity to meet other students and get to know the local area.
All first-year, full-time home, and International students are guaranteed University accommodation if they have firmly accepted an offer in the main application cycle and apply by the deadline date.
If you are a clearing or late applicant, we cannot guarantee University accommodation. However, we will aim to provide you with University Accommodation (subject to availability). Otherwise, we will assist you in finding alternative accommodation with a university-approved provider.
If you have a disability or long-term health condition that causes significant difficulties in your day-to-day life, you must contact Accommodation Services as soon as possible to discuss your specific requirements. We will not be able to offer you a room until we confirm that reasonable adjustments can be made.
We may be able to offer you accommodation for the duration of your course, but due to possible changes in the portfolio, this may not be the same accommodation each year. If you have a personal support worker enabling you to live independently at the university, we can also provide a room for them (the full cost of this room is applicable). Please also inform the Enablement and Wellbeing Team of your medical condition.
