Cal State Los Angeles (CSULA) is firmly committed to the respectful repatriation of Native American ancestral remains and cultural items. This commitment is rooted in ongoing collaboration with descendant communities to establish a thoughtful and culturally sensitive repatriation process that honors their customs, religious practices, and traditions.
CSULA is both ethically and legally dedicated to the full implementation of the Federal Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) and the California Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (CalNAGPRA). These laws affirm the rights of Native American, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian communities to reclaim their ancestral remains and cultural heritage.

Reporting Concerns
To anonymously report concerns related to campus personnel or potential violations of repatriation laws or the CSU systemwide policy, please
complete the reporting form
If you wish to be contacted regarding your report, be sure to include your contact information.
Submit an Appeal
To submit an appeal or dispute regarding the identification, repatriation, or transfer of Ancestral Remains or cultural items, please contact the President’s Designee and the CalNAGPRA/NAGPRA Repatriation Coordinator. Be sure to include your contact information along with a brief description of the issue.
You will receive an acknowledgment of your submission within 15 business days from the appropriate representative.
