Swimming lessons are considered essential in the present times, both as a necessity and a luxurious lifestyle activity. As such, every parent enrols their kid in a swimming class to learn the activity.
A swimming pool is perhaps one of the best and crucial facilities that colleges should mandatorily have. It plays an important part in the life of a student. It not only develops the health but also a confidence booster activity.
GIET University has a 6-track national standard swimming pool. It is an ultra-modern aquatic complex. It can be used by both males and females. It serves as a recreational facility for the students and also takes care of the swimming enthusiasts.  The swimming area has an adequate number of showers, change rooms, water filtration and chlorination facilities.  The swimming pool is accessible to all students and they can use it as per their schedule and convenience. It also hosts various competitions like freestyle, water polo matches and so on.
Benefits of Swimming:
Swimming is a fun-filled activity and has plentiful of benefits- physically, socially and psychologically. Additionally it is a fun and an enjoyable activity and helps build up a positive attitude in life. A stress buster activity, swimming also releases stress and the tension from the body to rejuvenate it.
It improves body flexibility and improves strength
It builds the endurance capacity in body.
It develops muscular flexibility and balance
It strengthens the heart muscles and improves the physique.
It enhances blood circulation in the body and makes the person agile and healthy.
It is a form of good workout for the body.
It is useful in life changing situations
It helps develop positive attitude and confidence in students and also helps them to escape the embarrassment of not knowing how to swim.
It is a refreshing activity.
It can shape and enhance talents of the students. Students can learn it as an active sport and take part in regional and national competitions when they excel.
