Student Involvement and Representation Fee (SIRF)
: On January 28, 2015 the CSU Board of Trustees established a new voluntary student fee, the Student Involvement and Representation Fee (SIRF).
This fee is charged to all students unless they
choose to opt out of the fee
, which can be done via MyCSULB Student Center.
The fee amount is $2 per fall and spring term, and is used to support the student leadership, involvement, governance, and advocacy programs managed by the California State Student Association (CSSA). For more information, see

If you are
not a resident of California
you must add $444.00 for each unit of credit
you take
to your tuition total.
Example Non-Resident Tuition for an undergraduate who wishes to register for 12 units:
Total California Resident Tuition and Mandatory Fees: $4,171.00
Multiply the number of units (12) by $444: = $5,328.00
Add the two amounts together for total non-resident tuition: $4,171.00 + $5,328.00 = $9,499.00
Students may be exempt from non-resident classification if they are a teacher, military service member, California high school graduate who has attended a California high school at least three years, or a dependent child of California residents. If so, you must apply for an exemption every semester through Enrollment Services.

align with your unit load

Health Facility Fee:
Supports the construction, maintenance, and operations of the Student Health Center, ensuring you have access to a safe, modern space for your healthcare needs.
Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) Fee:
Funds Associated Students, Inc. (ASI), a nonprofit organization that enhances student life through programs, services, events, facilities, and student-led initiatives across campus. For more information, please visit the

Instructionally Related Activities (IRA) Fee:
Provides funding for hands-on learning experiences beyond the classroom, including academic competitions, performances, research opportunities, athletics, and support programs tied to your coursework.
Student Recreation & Wellness Center (SRWC) & University Student Union (USU) Fee:

Student ID Card Fee:
