Operation and Management Policy for Video Information Processing Devices
Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology(hereinafter referred to as "UNIST") informs you of the purposes and methods for which image information processed by this institution is utilized and managed through its Image Information Processing Device Operation and Management Policy.
Basis and Purpose of Installation
In accordance with Article 25, Paragraph 1 of the Personal Information Protection Act, UNIST installs and operates image information processing devices for the following purposes.

Processing Method: We record and manage matters regarding requests for the use of personal video information for purposes other than its intended use, provision to third parties, destruction, and viewing, and upon the expiration of the retention period, permanently delete the data using a method that makes restoration impossible (in the case of printed materials, shredding or incineration).
Outsourcing of the operation of image information processing devices
UNIST entrusts the installation and management of image information processing devices as follows, and in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, stipulates necessary matters in entrustment contracts to ensure that personal information is safely managed.

Location and Method for Checking Video Information
Verification Method: If you contact the Integrated Control Center (052-217-0112) in advance and visit, you can verify according to the procedures.
Verification Location: Integrated Control Room, 1st Floor, University Headquarters
Request for access, etc. by the data subject
If a data subject wishes to access, confirm the existence of, or have personal video information destroyed (hereinafter referred to as “access, etc.”), they may make a request to the operator of the video information processing device at any time.
However, this is limited to personal video information in which the data subject is filmed and personal video information that is clearly necessary for the urgent benefit of the data subject's life, body, or property.
When requesting access, etc., the data subject must submit a 'Request for Confirmation of Access to or Existence of Personal Video Information'.
When UNIST of Science and Technology receives a request for access, etc. from a data subject, it will take necessary measures without delay, and in such cases, it will verify whether the person making the request is the principal or a legitimate representative using identification documents such as a resident registration card, driver's license, or passport.
Notwithstanding the provisions of Paragraph 3, a request by a data subject for access to, etc., personal video information may be refused in the following cases. In such cases, we will notify the data subject of the reasons for refusal in writing, etc., within 10 days.
Cases where it causes serious impediment to criminal investigation, prosecution, or trial proceedings
In cases where personal video information is destroyed after the retention period has expired
Other cases where there are justifiable grounds to refuse the data subject's request for access, etc.
If a request is made to view, confirm the existence of, or delete personal video information, UNIST will take necessary measures without delay.
Measures to ensure the safety of personal video information
In accordance with Article 29 of the Personal Information Protection Act and Article 30, Paragraph 1 of the Enforcement Decree of the same Act , UNIST is taking the following measures to ensure safety so that personal video information is not lost, stolen, leaked, altered, or damaged.
Establishment and implementation of an internal management plan for the safe processing of personal video information
Access control and restriction measures for personal video information
Application of technology capable of securely storing and transmitting personal video information
Measures for the storage of processing records and prevention of forgery or alteration (measures for recording and managing the creation date and time of personal video information, and in the event of viewing, the purpose of viewing, the viewer, the date and time of viewing, etc.)
Provision of storage facilities or installation of locking devices for the safe physical storage of personal video information
Change in the operation and management policy of video information processing devices
This policy on the operation and management of image information processing devices will be effective from Nov. 13, 2025.
