Engineering ideas into tomorrow’s opportunities.
Innovation thrives in environments that value new ideas and embrace failure as a learning tool. We, the Technology and Engineering Education department, encourage students to ask meaningful questions and avoid narrow career paths by fostering intelligence, creativity, grit, and curiosity. Our teaching models a risk-taking and growth mindset, praising effort over innate ability. This model can be represented by the acronym
SCOPE— Science Technology Engineering Math (STEM), Computational Thinking, Opportunities in Career and Work, Project-Based Learning, and Equity
. By reinforcing these concepts, we develop critical thinking skills and adaptability in every student. By encouraging play and reflection, we equip students with skills to navigate ever-changing roles, including careers that do not even exist yet, and become lifelong learners.
We believe in adopting a K-to-Career approach instead of K-to-12.
We believe in empowering every student through technology and engineering to imagine bold solutions for tomorrow’s challenges and to thrive in careers not yet created.
