Enjoy the full university experience in one of the UK's safest regions.
Our campuses are based in one of the safest areas of the UK, yet we still have a range of security measures in place to protect our staff and student communities.
These include door entry access systems across our sites, widespread CCTV and 24/7 security patrols on campus. We also have a 24/7 security presence in each of our halls of residence.
Entertainment
Take a break after a busy day of studying
The entertainment complex
Chichester Gate
is situated right next to our Stockbridge Halls of Residence and a mile from our Fishbourne Halls of Residence, and is the perfect place for socialising after a busy day at University.
It has everything you need – a cinema, bowling alley, trampoline park, fast food and sit-down restaurants. There are also plenty of bars, pubs and restaurants in the centre of the city, many of which offer student discount, so don’t forget your student card!
If you're looking for a cheap cinema then the
Picturedrome
in Bognor Regis is the place to go. With the latest films being shown for £4.20, you can't go wrong!
Beaches
Our Bognor Regis campus is 915 steps from an award-winning beach
Fancy a day at the beach?
Bognor Regis has a sand and shingle beach just a 10 minute walk away from Bognor Regis campus. The traditional high street is a short walk from the beachfront, with shops, pubs and restaurants. Have some fun in the sun and try paddle-boarding, jet skiing and other water sports along the seafront throughout the summer.
Just south of the Chichester is West Wittering, a white sand beach which is 100% Instagram worthy. These endless sandy and unspoilt beaches are perfect for a chilled day in the sunshine. If you are after some action, East Witterings is always full of kitesurfers, windsurfers and kayakers enjoying the surf. West Wittering has a sandy seafront of 6km, a beautiful independent cafe and excellent views of Chichester Harbour. East Witterings beach is a pebble beach with independent shops, bars and restaurants leading up to the beachfront.
Events
Join activities across the city
Located a 10 minute drive from Chichester,
Goodwood
is the home of Glorious Goodwood, Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival.
These events are unmissable for anyone living in the local area, plus it's a great opportunity for earning money. The annual 'Three Friday Nights' event presents a night of racing, music and dancing that you won't forget. Previous line ups have included Rudimental, Example, Gorgon City and Steve Aoki take to the famous Parade Ring decks.
Parks and Green Spaces
Celebrate the outdoors
Both of our campuses are situated next to large public parks.
Grab a picnic and head down to Oaklands and Hotham Park for some well-earned sunshine, an ice cream and enjoy a game of cricket in the summer. Bring out your competitive side with a round of crazy golf by the beach before visiting the Hotham Park Cafe for affordable lunch and dinner options. Both parks host many events and festivals across the year with live music, ice skating, stalls and performances. From fish and chip shops along the Bognor Regis seafront to restaurants like T-Bone and Sen Tapas bar, you won't go hungry in Bognor Regis.
The South Downs National Park
begins 1.5 miles from our Chichester campus. From rolling hills to bustling market towns, the South Downs National Park’s landscapes cover 1,600km
of breath-taking views and hidden gems. Discover the white cliffs of the Seven Sisters, rolling farmland, ancient woodland and lowland heaths, and enjoy traditional country pubs.
More Things to Do
The Chichester Canal runs four miles from the Southgate Basion to the
Chichester Harbour
in Birdham. Whether you want a nice walk or a relaxing boat trip, the canal has a lot to offer such as hiring rowing boats, fishing and walking.
