The BIC UK
Thema
National Group reports into the BIC Metadata committee and is one of many
Thema
National Groups that operate throughout the book industry globally, In summary this group is responsible for influencing and providing UK industry feedback with regards to the development of the
Thema
standard specification. The group also collaborates on best practice recommendations and/or issues, industry training requirements and the promotion of the
Thema
standard generally. Feedback from this group is submitted to the International
Thema
Steering Committee which meets twice a year at the Frankfurt and London book fairs to discuss and agree any proposed updates to, or development of the standard. The group also receives regular updates and feedback from the International
Thema
Steering Committee.
