for you to choose from, you'll have plenty of opportunities to make friends and take a break from your studies.
If English isn’t your first language, studying your degree in it can be challenging. The
English Language Unit
(ELU) is here to make sure you meet those challenges with confidence and make the most of your student journey.
We run individual one-to-one tutorials, language surgeries and six week short courses throughout the academic year.

The Go Global office is located in room G02 in

. We’re open every day during term-time, 10am - 4pm.
Until the end of 2024, you'll still need to carry your physical documents when travelling.
However, UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) have introduced a digital immigration system. You can now access an eVisa, an online record of your immigration status, which confirms your permissions to enter or stay in the UK.
In the future, you'll be able to use an eVisa to travel to the UK. You can find more information on accessing and using an eVisa on our dedicated

promotes your interests and welfare during your course. We provide free, confidential advice and support to all Bath Spa students and host a range of events for you to get involved with.

Student Wellbeing Services
are here to help you get the most out of your time at Bath Spa. We offer drop-in sessions and bookable appointments and aim to respond to all initial enquiries within 36 working hours.
We're open all year round and encourage you to get in contact if you have any queries or concerns.
The
Immigration Advice Service
provides high quality, impartial and free immigration advice to current students, applicants and recent graduates. If you require more in-depth advice and guidance, we can arrange in-person or online appointments.

This drop-in service is only available to students and staff of Bath Spa University, so you may be asked to provide evidence of your status (such as your ID card) before any information or advice is provided. We also run an online drop-in service if you are unable to attend an in-person session.
There are strict legal rules around who can provide immigration advice in the UK, and the advisors at Bath Spa can only provide advice on a limited range of issues, mainly restricted to Student visa requirements and conditions. Before contacting us, please refer to the table below to make sure that our service can help you.

Applications for a Student visa, Skilled Worker, or Standard Visitor visa to study/work at Bath Spa University, made from either inside or outside the UK. For Student visa applications made in the UK, we offer a free check-and-send service, including Student Dependant applications for dependants of BSU students.
Visa application questions for any category
other than Student (and Student Dependant),
Standard Visitor, Skilled Worker, or Graduate
(e.g. asylum applications, indefinite leave to
remain, citizenship, family visas, etc.). These
need to be handled by a registered immigration adviser. Some free advice can also be obtained
through
Citizens Advice.
General information and signposting for post-study work visa options, including the Graduate

UK – these should be directed to the embassy
of the country to which you will be travelling.

The Student Hub
, Newton Park campus, to speak with the Student Information Officer (International). The Hub is open 9am-4pm, Monday-Thursday and 9am-3:30pm on Friday.
Students get ‘reflective’ for BSU photo competition
The winners of BSU’s annual photo competition were announced at an exhibition on 8 May 2025 at the Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution (
BRLSI
).
The winners in each category received
£100
and a certificate from the Mayor of Bath, Councillor Michelle O’ Doherty, who also attended the exhibition.
