Major Application and Change Requirements

In the Undergraduate Admissions, students may pursue a minor (or double) major in addition to their major.
To apply for a minor (or double) major, you must complete the application form within the designated application period and obtain approval from your academic advisor and the head of the Department.
Major Selection Criteria
You must select a major within the field you Admissions(Science/Engineering/Business).
You can choose a minor (or double) major regardless of Undergraduate or academic field.
Important Notes
For Department, completing a double major or minor is not mandatory (single major is possible).
Prerequisite courses may be designated according to the major, and credits for the same course are not double-counted as major and minor (double) major courses.
Completion of a minor (or double major) must be carried out in accordance with the Academic Curriculum of each Department (or division); students must complete at least 36 major credits for a double major and at least 18 major credits for a minor. Up to 6 credits for a minor (or double major) may be recognized as elective credits.

Micro Major Application/Change
Micro-major: The smallest unit of Academic Curriculum established to complete a prescribed major for the promotion of convergence Academics .

You can choose a micro major regardless of your academic track.

To complete the micro-major, you must complete 9 to 12 credits (which may vary depending on the major) according to the Academic Curriculum of the offered major.

Track-based curriculum
Convergence major
definition
A specialized unit that systematically operates a series of interdisciplinary convergence Academic Curriculum aimed at fostering talent in specific Field , based on UNIST's needs.
Undergraduate students are required to complete at least two tracks.
The graduation certificate lists both Track 1 Undergraduate/track and Track 2 Undergraduate/track, but only the Track 1 degree is listed.
Track Selection Criteria
Select a Undergraduate within the field you Admissions (Science/Engineering/Business).
You select Track 1 within the chosen Undergraduate , while Track 2 can be selected regardless of Undergraduate or field of study.
Important Notes
Double counting of credits for the same course as a Track 1 and Track 2 course is not permitted.
Basically, convergence majors and convergence double majors must be completed according to the Academic Curriculum for each track based on the year of Admissions.

Convergence Double Major
definition
Those who have been granted permission to change their major must complete the basic and major courses required by the changed major.
However, students admitted between 2009 and 2015 must complete at least 48 credits in both Track 1 and the Double Major Track.
Up to 9 overlapping credits are recognized.
Both the Track 1 Undergraduate/track and the double major Undergraduate/track are listed on the graduation certificate, and both the Track 1 degree and the double major degree are awarded.
