As an international graduate student at Chapman, you are required to submit an International
Supplement Form after you have been admitted.

What is the International Supplement Form?
The International Supplement Form is a form that international students must submit
to Chapman to confirm your citizenship, current visa status (if applicable), and your
financial documentation if you plan on holding an F-1 visa at Chapman
The International Supplement Form lets us know:
Your country of citizenship.
Your current visa status.
Your sponsorship and financial information (if you will need an F-1 visa)

When do I submit my International Supplement Form?
You will submit your International Supplement Form after you have been admitted to
Chapman.
How do I submit my International Supplement Form?
After you have been admitted to Chapman,
you must fill out and submit the International Supplement Form in your
Application Status Page
.
If you are a Fowler School of Law international student, please fill out the
Law School International Student Supplement Form
.
If you do not have access to your Application Status Page or if you have any other
questions, please contact Shannon Morris Alvarez at

What documents do I need to submit with the form?
You will be asked to submit the following documents as part of your International
Supplement Form:
Photocopy of passport data and signature page
.
Evidence of available funds
. These may be personal funds, family funds, funding from other sources, or loan certificates/letters.
Your available funds must be equal to or greater than Chapman’s cost of attendance
for graduate students. For immigration purposes, you are required to show one year's
worth of tuition and costs. You can find the tuition and additional costs of your
program on our
International Tuition and Costs page
.
Make sure you don’t forget these documents. We
can’t
accept your International Supplement Form without them. Also, please ensure that
your financial documents are in English; if they are not available in English, you
will need to provide an official word-by-word, line-by-line translation along with
the original language.
You will also be asked about the type of visa you currently hold (if any) and the
type you plan to hold at Chapman.
How much does Chapman cost?
Chapman's cost varies depending on the program. Each program has its own tuition,
plus additional costs. You can view tuition costs per credit for each individual program
on our
Student Business Services website
.
*For your I-20 cost of attendance, you are required to show
one year
's worth of tuition and additional costs.
What counts as evidence of available funds?
There are four types of funding that you can provide as evidence of your available
funds. The type you provide depends on your individual situation.

Personal Funds
You can submit any of the following documents as evidence of personal funds:
Financial Institution Verification Form
that a representative of your bank has completed.
Bank/financial statement in your name
that shows your account balance. This can include multiple accounts. Your bank/financial
statement must:
Indicate the financial institution’s name.
Indicate the account holder’s name.
Clearly show the account balance.
Be dated within the past 6 months (older statements will not be accepted).
Be translated into English, including names.
Clearly indicate the type of currency.
Show liquid assets that can be converted to cash.
Family Funds
Evidence of funds from family must include:
Your family’s bank/financial statements
. These must:
Indicate the financial institution’s name.
Indicate the account holder’s name.
Clearly show the account balance.
Be dated within the past 6 months (older statements will not be accepted).
Be translated into English, including names.
Clearly indicate the type of currency.
Show liquid assets that can be converted to cash.
Letter(s) indicating the relationship between you and your sponsor(s)
, as well as the amount of funding you will be receiving per year. Alternatively,
you can submit this
Financial Sponsor Information Form
.
Funding from Other Sources
Other sources include employers, the government or other organizations. If you get
evidence of funding from these sources, make sure it is written on official business
letterhead and includes a signature and the amount of funding you will be receiving
per year.
We do
not
accept salary statements as evidence of funding.
I don’t plan on having a F-1 visa. Do I still need to submit this form?
Yes, all non-U.S. citizens must submit this form so Chapman can verify your citizenship
and visa status. If you don’t plan on holding an F-1 visa, then you will not receive
an I-20 and we will not request financial documents from you.
Loan Certificates/Letters
Loan certificates/letters must include:
Your name
.
The amount of the approved loan on official letterhead
.
We accept conditional loan approvals only if the condition is the receipt of your
I-20.
We do not accept loan applications as evidence of funding.
What happens after I submit my International Supplement Form?
Once you have submitted your International Supplement Form, we will evaluate your
documents and issue you an I-20 Form. After you receive your I-20 Form, your next
step is to
apply for an F-1 visa
.
