Business School Impact System
The first comprehensive impact assessment tool for business schools
Impact communication tool
At a time when all organisations are increasingly being held accountable for their activities, you often need to demonstrate with well-documented evidence the impact that you have on your immediate environment.
Data-driven system
This data-driven system allows you to identify the tangible and intangible benefits that you bring to the local environment.
Thorough assessment process
At the heart of BSIS is a framework of 120 indicators covering seven dimensions including financial, economic, societal and image dimensions of impact.
Global reach
Since its launch in 2012, BSIS, run as a joint venture between EFMD Global and FNEGE, has successfully assessed over 100 business schools all over the world.

'The BSIS process has been an enriching and constructive journey for our institution. One of the key highlights was the opportunity to engage in deep reflection on our impact - not only in academic terms, but also in relation to our ecosystem, including the business community, public authorities, alumni, and society at large. The process also served as a powerful catalyst for internal alignment and strategic thinking across departments. Moreover, the BSIS framework gave visibility and value to many initiatives that we had developed over the years but had not previously framed in terms of measurable impact. Overall, the process was not just an assessment - it was a true learning and developmental experience that we look forward to continuing in the coming years.'
Amine Ben Abbes
Carthage Business School, University of Tunis Carthage (UTC)
'My involvement in BSIS has enhanced my understanding of impactful practice and meaningful action. It has helped our business school stay focused on making a difference and delivering on our commitment to transforming lives. BSIS also enables us to better record and communicate our impact, allowing us to celebrate it collectively and individually.'
Hannah Holmes
Dean, Business School, Manchester Metropolitan University
'In BSIS, we have found a methodology to define and express our impact. These were the two main objectives to develop with the BSIS team. We wanted to measure the impact of all our activities. The seven axes suggested by BSIS were helpful in the reflections. The data collection and the implication of the staff and stakeholders, including the preparation of the expert visit, have been very useful for the upcoming accreditation audits.'
Wilfried Niessen
Director General and Dean, HEC Liège Management School – University of Liège
'I can confidently say that the process exceeded our expectations. Candid discussions with the experts and their recommendations enabled us to view our activities from the lens of impact. The BSIS report is a valuable tool in assessing our past performance and shaping our future direction. Another important aspect of BSIS is the network effect we intend to fully utilise. Koç University CASE & GSB’s strength is being 'connected'; we gain insights and drive change through collaborations. We look forward to contributing to the BSIS community and sharing our experiences.'
Şuhnaz Yılmaz Özbağcı
Dean of Koç University’s CASE and GSB
