Medicaid State Plan Amendments
Louisiana’s Medicaid State Plan is an agreement between the state and the Federal government describing how Louisiana administers its Medicaid and children’s health insurance programs (CHIP). State Plan Amendments (SPA) are requests from Louisiana to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to make a change to the Louisiana Medicaid program’s policies or operational approach, make corrections, or update the state plan with new information. Targeted Case Management Ventilator Care Coordination
The purpose of this SPA is to amend the provisions governing Targeted Case Management (TCM), in order to allow eligible beneficiaries, birth through 25, who require the use of mechanical ventilation to receive ventilator care coordination services. TCM services are services furnished to assist individuals, eligible under the State Plan, in gaining access to needed medical, social, educational and other services.

The purpose of this SPA is to amend the provisions governing the reimbursement methodology for Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID), by continuing the $12 add‐on to private (non-state) owned ICF/IID for increased costs related to retaining and hiring direct care staff, through June 30, 2025.
